My love of the National Trust is well documented here on this blog. I love being able to visit beautiful houses packed with history. Since I was a girl I have loved to imagine the lives of our ancestors. the other great thing about the National Trust is that we know that there will be somewhere where Finn can enjoy a slice of boyhood.
We have visited Brockhampton many times as it is only a few miles from us. It is a beautiful house, and with the moat and gatehouse, it is the stuff of dreams. Last week they held a damson picking event which was exactly the sort of thing I love. The breaches were laden - I have noticed this on all the fruit trees haven't you? Making up for last year. We picked and picked getting enough for several jars of jam which are pictured on my previous post. It was a glorious way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
