I had expected this weekend to be full of rain and so it felt extra blessed when the sun came out and stayed out for just about the whole weekend. It felt like we were getting another blastette of summer. So lovely.
On Saturday there was a potter around Bringsty Vintage Living just down the road from me. My lovely friend Helen was looking for Annie Sloan paint to revamp a bed. The paint looks fab and has made me look at all my furniture with new eyes...colour schemes are dancing in my head.
i was also taken by the autumnal tea set and was quite sad to leave it on the shelf...
Sunday morning and I was greeted by crumpled linen and glasses from the night before. Friends for dinner mean excellent evenings but are followed by slower Sunday mornings. These are when Finn gets a little more screen time than usual whilst I fix myself a curative breakfast and gently turned the pages of my new library book. I love Jane Cumberbatch's Pure Style and this cookbook has lovely recipes, a little crafting and gardening tips. A perfect book for me. I will be reluctant to return this one...indeed she inspired me enough to make flapjacks.
I am always drawn to grey but this seems to be becomming quite the obsession at the minute. My feather collection, started this spring, is growing as is my new grey blanket. I want to make this for my bedroom so it will have to be big enough to cover a king sized bed. This may take some time.
Finally there was a trip out to pick damsons. It deserves a full post and perhaps some pictures of the jam that is in my head but not yet in the pan. One step at a time...
I hope you had a beautiful weekend too - I am determined to grab all the good ones and make the most of them. This summer was too good to let go of!
